Harris County received a direct allocation of Hurricane Harvey 2017 Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Round One funding from the Texas General Land Office (GLO) for infrastructure/non-housing activities. Additionally, the County has another federal CDBG-DR infrastructure allocation to address unmet needs from the 2016 Floods.
Combined, these allocations total nearly $200 million and will be used to address both infrastructure and non-housing activities, such as planning and public services, which are designed to promote a sustainable long-term recovery by reducing the vulnerability of households to future flooding events.
