The purpose of this section is to provide data on the approximately $5.024 billion in federal Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding awarded to the State of Texas to assist in its recovery from Hurricane Harvey, and the floods of 2016 and 2015. CDBG-DR funds are intended to address unmet needs not satisfied by private insurance, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), or other sources. Using CDBG-DR funds, the State is administering various programs to help homeowners, renters, businesses, and communities impacted by Harvey.
